Alicante Airport FAQ — Flights, Bags & Transport

Straight answers about Alicante-Elche (ALC): the live board, baggage belts, airlines and practical airport questions. If your question isn’t here, write to us.

How accurate are the live times on the board?

Arrival and departure times are matched from OpenSky ADS-B transponder data — the same signals air-traffic control uses — combined with the airport timetable. Live rows are accurate to the minute of transponder detection; schedule rows show published times.

How often is the data refreshed?

Our server pulls fresh flight data about every 10 minutes, and the board updates itself automatically while you watch. You can also press “Refresh now” at any time.

Do I need an app or registration?

No. The board works in any browser, is free, and stores nothing about you beyond an anonymous cookie choice.

Which airlines can I see?

All airlines operating at Alicante-Elche (ALC): Ryanair, Vueling, easyJet, Jet2, Iberia, Air Nostrum, TUI, Transavia, Norwegian, BA, Aer Lingus, Wizz Air and more — around 35 operators are recognised by callsign.

What do the belt and gate numbers mean?

On arrivals, the belt column is baggage reclaim. On departures, it is the boarding gate. Numbers for schedule-based rows follow the airport’s typical patterns; live-matched rows show the real detected time.

Is this the official airport website?

No — Sky Departure is an independent guide and is not affiliated with AENA or Alicante Airport. For binding information (check-in deadlines, lost property, security rules), always confirm with your airline or the airport.

Why does a flight sometimes show as “scheduled” instead of live?

When ADS-B coverage is briefly unavailable for a rotation, the row falls back to the published timetable and is labelled “Scheduled” instead of “Live”. It returns to live matching automatically.

Can I use the board on my phone?

Yes — the board is built mobile-first. Add it to your home screen from your browser menu for one-tap access at the terminal.
